I visted Salzburg for 4 days....Its a beautiful city, it was freeeeeezing cold as we expected, but the snow was amazing and just added to my "Salzburg Experience"!
The Old Town is fairly small and easy to walk around and navigate, the outer sections of the city are stunning, the contrast here is amazing....One minute you are admiring beautiful Baroque architecture and strolling in the small narrow streets, the next you are wandering along streets with huge meadows either side and huge wooden typical Austrian houses scattered along it!
The beer halls are amazing, the shops have so much character, and the mountain scenery is superb.
The city certainly needs more than a daytrip, granted...its not huge and their isnt tons to see and do...but to take it all in you definatly need a few days....
Visit Salzburg....You wont regret it!
