Sorrento for us was the beach part of our Eurotrip, we had only seen cities for two weeks, so as I live near the beach I was desperate!!

The Town of Sorrento is very pretty, most visitors are on a package holiday, staying in the beautiful hotels built into the cliffs.

Its an ideal base for exploring the nearby Amalfi Coast and ruins of Pompei. We did not do either, for us it was chill out time!!

Pros and Cons

Pros:Great Weather, nice town, Good food
Cons:Beaches are not the best
In a nutshell:Nice town, glad I visited....Wont be going back

Got to do Italy in July, but didn't quite make it to Sorrento! That is crazy that you had to pay 5euros to get on the beach!!

stayed at that hostel last november, were less then impressed also but did meet some other nice travelers.
