Spa Palace Gardens - Puerto Aventuras

Spa Palace Gardens

Gardens

The gardens of the hotel complex are beautiful and well kept......always clean and tidy.

They were fantastic for some shade and walking when you tired of the pool or beach or bar!!!

Michael chilling at the beach! - Puerto Aventuras

Lagoons

The Aventura Spa Palace isnt exactly set on a beach, instead they have lagoon areas, which are brilliant for snorkelling, swimming and generally chilling out.

Yes, they are man made, but the sand is white and the waters are clear and fairly shallow.

People would snorkel, swim and kayak.

In the Pool! - Puerto Aventuras

In the Pool!

Pool Areas

The hotel is kind of split into two, the north lobby and the south lobby areas. Both have restaurants, bars and pool areas.

The pool areas are clean, with plenty of sunbeds, swim up bars and snack areas.

The Dorsal tow - fab pic !! - Puerto Aventuras

The Dorsal tow - fab pic !!

Swimming with Dolphins

This truly was one of the most memorable experiences of my whole life.

You can partake in this any many places in Mexico - including Xel Ha the eco - logical park.

We decided that we would prefer in a more natural environment, and so swam in the harbour at Puerto Aventuras

There are a variety of different options that you can do, from just stroking the dolphin, to a full swim.

The animals are not harmed in ANY way, and you must watch a safety video beforehand - this includes safety for yourself and the dolphins.

It is really expensive if you go the whole hog - Full programme with dolphins including foot push and dorsal tow, then playing games with them, buy the photographs and video, worked out in the region of approx ?400stg!!
(for 2 adults)
It was worth every penny and I would certainly do it again.

Address: Puerto Aventuras Harbour

Directions: Right in the centre of the resort

Michael snorkelling at the lagoon - Puerto Aventuras

Michael snorkelling at the lagoon

Snorkelling

We enjoyed this within the grounds of our hotel, The Aventura Spa Palace has lagoons with man made beaches - which is far better than it actually sounds!

After initially nearly choking ourselves with the snorkelling equipment, we enjoyed snorkelling in the lagoons - we saw loads of amazing fish - some big, some small, in a variety of bright colours.

This is offered on various excursions in the area, but we did it at our hotel because it was all inclusive - so did not cost us any extra!

Spa Huts - Puerto Aventuras

Spa Huts

Spa Treatments

Well staying in a "Spa" Resort, you just had to take advantage of some of the treatments on offer! They had a huge long list of all the different treatments that they did, this was not included in the all inclusive cost, so you did have to pay extra for it - but how relaxing!

They ranged from Marine Scrubs, Back Massage, Manicure etc etc....

If you were lucky, your treatment would be in one of these small air conditioned huts out on the lagoon.............Otherwise you were in a Spa area underneath the lobby (which was however very nice!)

The Indoor pool at Spa Palace - Puerto Aventuras

The Indoor pool at Spa Palace

Relaxing in the pool!

The Aventura Spa Palace resort not only has outdoor pools but an indoor one as well.
Very handy if you get sunstroke like me!!

The pool has sunbeds around it, a bar, 2 jacuzzis (1boiling 1 freezing) and underwater music!
