"Chimporama!" Ngamba Island by kentishgirl

Ngamba Island Travel Guide: 35 reviews and 129 photos

Ngamba Island is a small island in Lake Victoria in Uganda.
It takes approx 2 hours to reach the island from Entebbe depending on which boat you take to the island.

Ngamba Island is a sanctuary for Chimpanzees which have been bought here from Uganda, Kenya, DR Congo and Rwanda.
Here they take care of them and nurse them back to health - this has obviously become something of a tourist attraction, and you can visit and see the chimps feeding as well as reading some of the information placards and learning something about these animals.
