The V&A Shopping centre offers air conditioned comfort! It houses a number of brands and chain stores that I know we have back in the UK.

There is lots of parking outside in a big car park, the mall is clean and if aftet travelling through Africa for a while you want to buy some creature comforts this is the place you want!

When we were here it was Christmas and there were beautiful displays, it was very busy and it was open late.

Informal Markets: What treasures can be found here?

  • Name of Shop: Market Stalls

Just like in other areas of Africa it is common to all of a sudden come across a random stall set up along the side of the road.
These people are usually selling local crafts - in Africa that usually means wooden giraffes and other wood carvings - they are cheap, good gifts - just make sure that you can carry them and that you are allowed to take them back into your country.

It was fun to revisit Cape Town through your pages. I was there in 2004 and liked it a lot. Isn't the scenery magnificent? Diane
