    Getting TO/AROUND: The Paris Metro system was very efficent and extremley easy to use, there will be a metro stop just about anywhere you go!!

    You must validate your ticket before getting on the train in the machines as you enter, and keep it until you leave.

    We used a "Carnet", which was a book of 10 metro tickets, this costs in the region of 10euro.

    Getting TO/AROUND: The funicular runs up to the Sacre Coeur from the bottom of its steps.

    You use a metro ticket as usual on this.

    Personally. I felt that it was a waste of money, the walk up isnt far and it isnt steep either!

    I say just use it of you have kids with you or if you are unable to manage the steps up.

    Getting TO/AROUND: Its not really reccommended to drive in Paris as the traffic is quite crazy and the parking is busy too.

    Unless of course you have a ferrari to show off!!

    Getting TO/AROUND: The Bateaux Mouches are a very touristy thing to do when in Paris albeit a very enjoyable experience. They are tourist boats that ride along the Seine.

    In the summer season they run almost every 20-30minutes, but when we were in December they ran less frequently and had certain times that they would run each day.

    Its not usually my thing, but when you dont have much time its a great way to see the sights along the river...relax and take in the beauty of this city.

    Getting TO/AROUND: Before I have always purchased a carnet upin arrival in Paris for use on the metro.
    On our trip in December we only had one day to enjoy Paris and so this time I opted for a "Mobilis" pass.

    This entitles you to use the metro, bus and RER in zones 1 and 2 as many times as you like during that day!

    At only 5.60euro per person it was an absolute bargain!

    You get a plastic holder for the pass and a small section in the front of it for a usual metro ticket that you put in the machines as you enter the station.

     Wife and I just back from Paris. These guys are a menace! We were approached twice on the steps from SC. Guy grabbed my wrist and I jerked my arm away. We ended up going all sorts of circuitous routes to avoid them. Where are the cops?
