I had visited Paris twice previous to my August 2004 trip, as a teenager on school trips, to be honest I think this is where my fear of heights started...being left by at the top of the Eiffel Tower!
I thought that now going back as an adult (some would dispute that!) that I would maybe conquer my fear and climb to the top! This was not to be, after standing looking at the tower and the lifts going up and down for a whole hour I decided that I would have to pass on this trip....instead I waited for hubbie for 3 hours in the rain as he went and enjoyed the views from the top......Maybe next time!
Paris is a beautiful city, with stunning architecture, the people are SO friendly and its really clean and safe, I loved it and will definatly be visiting again.
We are just back from wonderful Paris for the second time in a few months in December 2004!
I LOVE it! Paris is definatley one of my favourite cities now....so clean, the people so friendly, the sights so outstanding - I just adore it!!
This trip we only had a short time in Paris...that diddnt stop us visiting the famous Pere LaChaise, Arc De Triomphe and Paris's own Statue Of Liberty!
We also saw the Tour Montparnasse and watched the Ice Skating in front of Montparnasse train station.
Paris in December is great...less crowded, still stunning and romantic....but it still rained as it did when we were here in August....but you cant have everything!!
Paris offers something for everyone...fabulous museums, grand architecture, stunning churches, great shopping and good food. It no wonder that its one of the most visited cities in the world.
I will certainly visit Paris again, I dont know if I will ever see everything there...its different everytime I go back!
If I could reccommend to you the top things to see/do these would be them (in no particular order)-
1. Walk along the Seine,
2. Sacre Couer and Montmartre,
3. Pere LaChaise,
4. Visit the stunning Sainte Chapelle,
5.Walk through Les Halles and the streets around it,
- Pros:Clean, Friendly, Safe, Beautiful
- Cons:Can be expensive
- In a nutshell:Beautiful

sorry, wrong message
Wife and I just back from Paris. These guys are a menace! We were approached twice on the steps from SC. Guy grabbed my wrist and I jerked my arm away. We ended up going all sorts of circuitous routes to avoid them. Where are the cops?
Glad you enjoyed your visits to Paris, in spite of various mishaps.
Hey, you have very interesting pages about Paris and that warning tip was very helpful.
Ali - Great additions to your Paris page. I remember appreciating the Pere Lachaise cemetary when I visited Paris during my sixth form!
Thank you sooooo much Ali for such a great page on Paris. Yours tips would be really helpful for me during trip. Thanks for comments on my homepage. You are most welcome to Pakistan and I am sure you would not be disappointed after coming here.~ Najam...
Fantastic Paris page, Ali. I love your pics and interesting narrative. Thanks for sharing your close shave with an unruly vendor and warning all of us at VT!
Hey the story is really useful, so I am shocked a bit. But I believe that all those street vendors are quite sticky if you show the interest or just have alook at something ... yuck :)
hey Ali, some great photos here! It's been far too long since I went to Paris... nice to see it through your pages though :-)
Ali fantastic page, albums and tips. Great job. You must have taken great pains to make this page.
