Samoa is my homeland: I grew up here till I was 14 and returned to NZ, but I travel back at least once a year. Much of the old culture and customs still exist and celebrated at the Annual Teuila Festival in September. You won't know hospitality till you visit Samoa. There is something for everyone...whether its a quiet get away....to meet that special someone (very friendly people)...to experience the culture (visit the big island of Savaii) or simply to mingle with the locals at the clubs. Best times to travel: December/June/September/February are the busy months. And if you want a quiet holiday, then its any other time of the year. If you like beaches, waterfalls etc then there's no better place. Tofa Soifua, Ronna |
| Locals at papaseea (sliding rocks) |
Sliding Rocks "Papaseea" You got to visit the sliding rocks...yes...'you can slide on the rocks' Located about half an hour from Apia (city). Just say the magic word 'sliding rocks' and you will probably have one of the locals drop you off there. |
"Night Life" The clubs are capital 'A' awesome!! There is no such thing as snotty in Samoa. You dont need to take company because you will not go without. People are very friendly and its the norm to have ladies/guys ask you for a dance or buy you a drink.....and you usually end up forming great friendships with the locals. Theres various types of clubs...RnB, Reggae...for the old, the young, workers..you name it...they have it. ...oh and dont forget to try some 'Vailima Beer'...Samoa's very own. |
