Home Away from Home

My journey to London Kentucky was by far my favorite trip. I'd been researching my family tree, and found out that both of my grandparents on my fathers side had been born in this city. They both have passed away, and I felt a great urge to get back in touch with my roots. So, my mother and I packed our bags and took a mini-vacation to London Kentucky.

Favorite Memories

The people in London were wonderful to us, a model of southern hospitality. The views were astounding, as we explored the back roads and drove deeper into the country. Nature there seemed so untouched!

Going Home

When it was time to go home, we decided to take the scenic route, taking the Cumberland Parkway back west. It has to be one of the most beautiful highways on earth. Mountains on either side most of the way, and looking down on beautiful Lake Cumberland was a sight to remember.

I can't wait until my next visit!

Pros and Cons

Pros:Unspoiled nature, friendly people!
Cons:Poverty, few good restaurants
In a nutshell:I can't wait to visit again!

Lovely backroad pictures but at first I thought this was London, England, not Kentucky.
