The hostel is a big building however with a small entrance so I just walked along and I ended almost up in another and more shady hostel.
The building is old, worn, but equipped with new beds, douches. The hostel looks a bit weird because of it's elderness, darkness inside, the elevator shaft in old movie style, but it's basically clean. In the big building also some private appartments are housed as well.
At arrival you get your room key, a padlock for a locker in the room itself, a code to get on the third floor and a number to burr on the side of your bed. Because the locker is quite small for a backpack you can leave your backpack at reception.
My room had 10 beds. The matress was good. I slept well.
The bar and room for breakfast is located on the third floor. Maybe pitty for those sleeping on another level. Drinks in the bar are only served form 19.00h. But it's a place to meet other travellers. Beer 25 CZK and you can get the Oetker Ristorante pizza's warmed up for you. (Forgot to wach the price).
Breakfast is goog: You got the corn flake stuff, good little breads to be stuffed with butter, marmelade, real cheese and sausage and/or other meat. Yoghurt don't to be forget.
I booked this one via the internet via http://www.hostelbooking.com/ without any additional cost.
Unique Qualities: Cheap for all the basics you get! I stayed here 2 days befire I moved to another hostel (just for trying out) "U Melounu" which was a bit more expensive, but in younger building and more comfortable (however located a bit more away from the city). See other review.
2 nights 540 CZK / 11,70 GBP / 16,3 EUR.
100 CZK to give at arrival and returned at departure.
