I had really great expectations about Gdańsk, but when I saw it I liked even more than I expected! And in the next years I'm sure it will become even more beautiful, thanks to some EU money to restore some houses along the canals.
Among the towns of the Hanseatic League only Lübeck can rival Gdańsk in beauty, but the Polish town is bigger and a much lively town.
There's really plenty to see here, and if you go there at the beginning of August, as I did, you will find an even more exciting atmosphere with a lot of celebrations, concerts, markets among the cobblestoned streets... everything you would expect from a big merchants town!
- Pros:Wonderful historic centre
- Cons:Some restoring still do to
- In a nutshell:You cannot miss it, for any reason in the World!

Nice page of a nice place! I was here MANY years ago and can't really remember the things/places you pictured and described :( But they look lovely so I'll have to go back & see them! ;)
