A great city in the very heart of Europe!

Why Warsaw is so underrated?

The Castle Square
If you ask someone (expecially Polish people) something about Warsaw you will probably hear not many compliments about this big capital city... the most they will say will be something like "it's all rebuilt after the war" and so on... But is it a fault to be destroyed during the war? I think it's a tragedy, but surely not a fault! And people from Warsaw did really a GREAT job rebuilding the old town like it was before the war! And it seems that also at UNESCO they noticed it, and the Old Warsaw is a World Heritage now!
Lazienski Park

And there's not only the old town

In Warsaw there is plenty to see, not only the rebuilt old town, but, for example, there are some wonderful parks (like the Lazienski), monuments, museums, and many nice streets to go around!
I spend too little time in Warsaw, but walked as a madman to see the most I could, and it was too little!
So I really suggest to visit this old and important capital, it's really worth a deep visit, don't care about the bad words someone will tell about it!
Palace of culture and science at night

Why no accomodation suggestions?

Believe it or not, I saw all the things I listed in the "Must see activities" in HALF A DAY!
I arrived in Warsaw by train from Gdansk at about noon and left with another train, to Vilnius, at about 10pm.
It's a pity I could spend so little time in Warsaw, but unfortunately there was really no other solution. So that's why I cannot suggest any hotel or many other hints for Warsaw, I just saw almost all I HAD to see as a tourist, but couldn't enjoy much more!
So, now I have a good excuse to come back to Warsaw in the future, and I hope to meet also some VT user from there! ;-)
Anyway, as you can see in this last picture, I saw the Warsawian night! ;-)

You certainly noticed more than most tourists, not just the Palace of Culture and the Old Town. Really enjoyed your tour and your comments.
