Long Beach - A destination place, too! Long Beach is the second largest city in Los Angeles County, next to the 800-lb. gorilla City of Los Angeles, of course. But, Long Beach has all the elements of a great city--it's own international port, a lively downtown, nice beach areas, a California state university, family attractions (Queen Mary, Long Beach Aquarium), great neighborhoods (Belmont Shores, Naples, downtown/Pine Avenue, 4th Street, etc.), an airport (Jet Blue, American, America West all fly in and out of LGB--a terrific alternative to crowded, crazy LAX...) and a light rail that connects it to downtown Los Angeles and other parts of the greater L.A. region.
Don't overlook Long Beach--it has a lot to offer! |
