Kyaiktiyo is quite a sight at night. You should see if you can catch it during one of the festivals when people light candles (I believe this is in the winter months during the full moon)

Hiking all night to get up there, and finally making it near midnight. Almost nobody was left there. I sat down and meditated. The wind constantly made the bells and chimes sound. Since you are away from civilization, the stars are so bright.

The trucks take you up the mountain from 6 to 6. I arrived late, around 7pm so I had to hike up the mountain. Luckily... more travel advice
