Restaurant Name: Villa D'este

I know, it's an Italian name but the style is French/Italian.

I've never experienced bad service nor bad food here. And I'm in good company, apparently, Elton John and Michael Jackson are among the names on plates.

Dress well...

Sure, it's pricey, but it takes a bit to beat.

Favorite Dish: If you like raw steak, the carpaccio is great! And the crepe suzette cooked as-you-watch has to be the evening top off.

Oh my goodness, where do I begin..?

The fact that this restaurant has won national awards many years in a row is your first indication that the food is to DIE for.

Easily the best meal I have ever tasted in my life, the ingredients are grown fresh on the property (you can see the vege patches from the dining windows!) and if you really want the whole experience, you MUST book into one of the chalets for the night.

Favorite Dish: I know it's cliche, but the "Le Canard à L’Orange" was FANTASTIC - here's the menu description: A Grand Classique from the French kitchen. A half duck marinated in orange zest and cointreau, slow cooked until tender .Served with an orange sauce and garnished with orange segments and zests.

I thought I might be in heaven, until dessert - and then I knew I was... ha
