You'll see countless electronics stores, particularly in well-touristed midtown areas. We know these as "going out of business" stores because they lure customers in with those fake signs. They'll offer cash discounts too fantastic to believe. Take my word, DON'T BELIEVE THEM. The "list" prices on the stickers are phony, and you're likely to buy discountinued merchandise.

Alternative: Buyer beware! Before you buy anything, check the internet, the manufacturer's web site (to see if the merchandise is legit) and the Better Business Bureau or Consumer Affairs. Or just spend your money at a reputable dealer. B&H is a highly regarded photo shop, J&R and Comp USA are two reputable computer dealers. Just ask around, and always pay by credit card for your own protection.
