Seoul is made of several "parts" of the city. The central city is where all the markets, financial district and businesses take place. Seoul has expanded over the years to "New Cities". It is all still part of Seoul, but it is recognized as a separate area. Seoul has a great subway system that is very easy to navigate and crime is very low here, so travelling around Seoul is somewhat safe. Of course, always remember you are different and can always be a target.
