Warwick is a nice little English village and for the past quarter-century it has been the home of the Warwick Folk Festival each summer. The village has a very old castle which is open to the public (well, for a fee) but due to an unexpected day of bad weather I didn't get a chance to see it during my first visit (2005) but I did during my second (2006). There are also lots of good pubs and a few side streets of various shops.

The music festival is the big summer draw. There were two days of various workshops in areas such as singing, dancing, different types of fiddle styles, a few beginning guitar workshops, and lots more. No concertina in 2005, unfortunately, but I did end up getting a guitar from one of the music vendor stalls on site! Unfortunately there was a lot of rain, which started seeping through the tent by Sunday morning, forcing us to pack up early and head home.

We went to the Warwick Folk Festival again this year, and they were focusing on Anglo concertina this year! I wonder if they read this site. More rain again this year, turning the grounds into a brief marsh on Saturday, but it dried up again quite quickly and by Sunday afternoon there were no signs that there'd ever been any rainfall!
