Studying Gaeilge in Tír Chonaill

In 2003 I spent six weeks at an Irish Gaelic school called Oideas Gael, a language immersion school for adults. Students sign up for week-long sessions at any level of fluency, from native speaker to "what's that thing above the vowel?" I highly, highly recommend going - if you can, go for more than one week as your learning will increase exponentially with each week that you stay. Pros and Cons
  • Pros:Chockablock with local history
  • Cons:Not much to do if you crave city-style entertainment
  • In a nutshell:Spend at least two weeks and you'll be chatting in Irish...
