Welcome to my humble abode Hello there - you are visiting one of the small-but-growing homepages on VT. ;) I have been working hard to put interesting information on it. It's slow, but it's coming! Please leave me comments and/or tip ratings to encourage me to continue. My most recent trip to the states was in November 2006 when I visited my brother and his wife in Texas. I've been remarkably bad at updating these pages but hopefully I will get going and add more details soon. |
Well, I am a ramblin' rover... I am a native of the United States of America. I have visited 34 of the 50 States so far - I'd like to get to them all eventually. If you include mere airport layovers, the count would be 36... In 2003 I had the great fortune to spend three months in Ireland and a week in London, England. In April 2004 I spent about a week in Italy with some members of my family. Now I'm living the adventure, though, and have been a Londoner since September 2004. The winters haven't been too bad, though last year's seemed to last forever! The summer was great as I started a new job and finally had some money to use for travel. And for concertinas. I'm hoping to hit the northern US states in July 2007 - that will boost my total considerably! |
One of the few with the ol' blue eagle passport As with most Americans, I'm getting somewhat of a late start onto the international scene. Many of us who haven't had the chance to be in another country for more than a weekend or a vacation don't understand the appeal of going off to faraway lands - and not for one of those typical American "8 countries in 10 days" whirlwinds, either. As time has passed, most of my friends have come around to the fact that I'm an expatriate now. Except for the few who always tell me they'll never see me again, everyone has been very happy to hear about my experiences. |

OrmondeW Tue Sep 19, 2006 10:43 UTC Hi Elizabeth, Sorry for the longest time to reply in the world! I obviously don't log into Virtual Traveller all that often - Nice to know there's another concertina player out there. I play a 38 key C/G Jeffries Anglo myself | SallyM Mon Jul 31, 2006 12:52 UTC Love the pages. In our defence, I should explain that 'creamed macaroni' is macaroni in a sweet, creamy sauce, a version of the milk-based puddings such as rice pudding that used to be fed to children. | WillOBan Mon Sep 26, 2005 16:57 UTC Love the signs, Ava. Regarding the food, I haven't encountered the baked beans, but what we REALLY didn't care for was the Irish version of ketchup -- possibly much the same as the baked beans.
