    If you're keen to try eating various insects in a congenial atmosphere, head to the Lum Udom Night Market. A large section of this market is devoted to food and a couple of stalls specialize in insects. Grubs, crickets, grasshoppers, scorpions and a few others. You can have them fried or cooked in coals. I opted out (yes, chicken of me I know).

    Basically you choose your insect, indicate how you want it prepared (you get more than one of course) and then select the sauce. All very fast and will set you back 10 baht. These stalls are open until 1am.
