I got a train here by mistake, when I was meant to go direct from Bled to Villach. It wasn't a problem, as the one I was supposed to catch was right behind. Jesenice itself has a busy station, located right on the Austrian-Slovenian border, and it is one of the prettiest stations I have stopped at in the world. I don't think the town has much else to offer, and most people will only ever see the station.

Just a note: Jesenice is pronounced Jess-eh-nee-cheh.

Lovely little page. I once spent an hour or so in Jess-eh-nee-cheh between a change of trains within Slovenia.

Jesenice is the site of a old steelworks which stands mute now. Quite a bit prettier than say Duisburg. Going up the Sava Valley from here is quite super.

Isn't that the first town you come into after that long tunnel from Austria?We did the trip from Victoria to Split-amazing!
