Auberge de Jeunesse: best.hostel.ever Nimes Auberge de Jeunesse Review

This place is so good that I would return to Nimes just for the hostel and the friendly staff. The place is clean, cheap, beautifully located, and with incredibly friendly and considerate staff. I was made to feel more like part of the family, than just another traveller passing through. They have an excellent bar, which opens late (later if you get to know the staff), and plays excellent music, with requests. You can buy beer from the bar, or supply your own from the fridge, they don't mind either way. They also serve food, which is excellent value.

The only downside is the walk into town, but you won't care about that once you get there. You can reach the hostel on the I (i) bus to Ales or Villaverte, getting off at the Stade stop some distance up the hill. Recognising the stop can be problematic, but the driver will know if you can communicate with him. You will also have a bit of a walk up the hill to go, although it is well sign-posted. You might want to take a taxi on the first trip up, just to be safe, and they cost about 10 euros from the station.
