We all know about the ostriches that made some people very rich in the beginning of the 1900's. Ostrich farmers were responsible for thedevelopment of this town. These days ostrich feathers might not be so much in demand anymore but ostrich meat has become a delicatessen.
But there are also the Cango caves, angora farming, the house of Langenhoven ..... A nice day trip from Knysna and George over the beautiful Outenikwa pass. |
