Working trip to Muscat, Oman (Jan 04) My first working trip abroad in 2004 took me to Oman.
Prior to the trip I sought advice from a well travelled colleague on what to wear, buy, etc.
First impressions from the air...I was landing on the moon!. The scenery was totally different to what I was usually accustomed to; red vs green. The airport reminded me of the ones you find in Malaysian state capitals...this one was about the same size as Kota Kinabalu airport.
Althought the sun was shining brightly as I walked down from the plane, the air was cool and drier...in Malaysia the humidity would have slapped you in the face by now!
Overall, I found Muscat to be very pleasant, modern and easygoing. |
