Sorry New Orleans, Amsterdam has you beat.

I love Amsterdam. Can't wait to go back. I know that not everyone wants to partake in all of the vices and other things this city offers so openly, but you've got to marvel at how it works so well here.
Soft drugs, prostitution and all those other "evils" that take up so much of the police's and lawmakers' time in other lands, all thrive openly in Amsterdam, with no obvious ill effects.
You can stroll through the infamous Red Light District and just watch the show.
You can buy and smoke pot or hash, or just stick with drinking beer or cokes. No one cares.
There are so many big street parties here -- Queens Day, the gay pride water parade, etc., -- that are like having Mardi gras several times a year.
There's wonderful food (much of it very inexpensive) everywhere.
There's beautiful architecture.
There's world-class art museums.
There are gorgeous, colorful flowers everywhere.
There are strikingly beautiful Dutch women, pedaling past on bicycles on every street and alongside every canal.
And there are many other wonderful places -- Haarlem, Zandvoort, and many more -- all within a short, inexpensive train ride from central Amsterdam.
And if you don't mind a little walking, virtually everything is within walking distance in old Amsterdam -- museums, parks, restaurants, stores, hotels, etc. -- it can all be reached within a few minutes on foot from Centraal station.
I'm sure someone has gone to Amsterdam and not liked it. But I haven't found that person yet.
