"Forget about Osaka and escape to Minoo" Minoo by mikegr

Minoo Travel Guide: 7 reviews and 32 photos

Minoo (sometimes spelt Minoh) is a suburb of Osaka, easily accessible from Umeda, but which feels a hundred miles away.

From the pleasant station area (where you can buy traditonal Japanese food from the shop immediately on the left - I recommend the green tea mochi!), walk left up the slight hill towards the towering monstrosity of a hotel (which looks like a gigantic mine building).

Continuing up this road will eventually bring you to Minoo Falls and the starting point for a few hikes, going past the Minoo Insect Museum, which may be of interest to some people, and some shrines.

You can take food with you, but there are stalls at the Falls selling snack-type food.

If all this isn't relaxing enough, you can also venture into the hotel (gigantic mine building) for a relaxing spa.

Osaka?????

I've forgotten about it already!

Tips to follow soon!

Pros and Cons
  • Pros:Trees, monkeys, shrines, waterfall, beautiful natures ;-)
  • Cons:Can be busy on weekends and Fridays are popular with school trips.
  • In a nutshell:The perfect place to restore your sanity when Osaka gets too much.
