We traveled through Switzerland adn into Chamonix Mont Blanc France in Sept. 2004 and our last stop was Lucern. We arrived by railroad and the sight of this city when you exit the station is magnificent. Beautiful old town (aldstadt). Easy to go on lake/mountain trips from Lucerne (and other cities in Switzerland). This is an activity that makes Switzerland such a great place to visit.
In Lucerne we went to RIgi. We have been to the Bernese Oblerand (fantastic) but the sight from on high here was just as beautiful as the Schilthorn. Of course, it was also a great weather day, so that always helps. |
