Was in Vienna for a conference, for a week in November. Conference only took 3 days, so we were able to explore Vienna the rest of the week.
Quite amazing buildings - some beautiful Art Nouveau designs. The amont of cafes was wonderful and welcome on the cold November days.
Wondered, as a Jew, how I'd feel being here where I know Hitler was voted in and Kurt Wladheim was President. We were OK. Got a little flack from a drunk store keeper because we were from U.S. Needless to say, we didn't buy anything from him!!
But we truly enjoyed ourselves - museums, architecture, cozy local corner restaurant next to our hotel, and the history. The pastries.
I definitely recommend Vienna. |
