It took a day to get there but it was worth it. It had been over 15 years since I was in Europe and it was so wonderful to be back. I love living in the U.S. but Europe possesses so much history and beauty that it's like visiting another planet! The city of Barcelona reminded me of New York City's Fifth Avenue but much prettier. Very busy and bustling! Always active, always alive with people and activity I never felt unsafe or nervous being alone. The little spanish I know really came in handy. I was surprised how many people do not speak English. You know how we Americans are, we think everyone should speak English! :) It was challenging and fun struggling with another language. The people seemed to appreciate my attempts and would often help me to better express myself. I hope I have the opportunity to return. There is so much to see! I must return to see the finished Sagrada Familia!
