Kashgar sunday market

If you're in Kashgar, you must wait and see the Sunday market. A most unique experience.

I bought a couple of totally amazing rugs here. You can also buy many unique things, such as beautiful silver self-pouring tea sets, handworked bronze and tin, gold, and many other things.

Kashgar streets

Kashgar is a Uyghur city, and it's full of barely paved dirt streets, and brick houses. Walking around and checking out the sites is like walking around medieval europe, with men wearing knives, and women wearing veils.
Every neighborhood has a mosque, and most of the uyghurs I met were very friendly and actually spoke very good English (which is amazing since there are virtually no foreigners out there).

Medieval Kashgar

This is a good picture because you can see the typical clothes Kashgarians wear. The men mostly wear either these russian style hats or the pull down black hats, and leather coats, while women wear veils. The antiques are worth looking at, but basically the city in itself is a living time capsule.
