There are thousands of pages available about taking breaks in Amsterdam.
It is a great place for a quick, last minute break. I booked October 12th 2000, flew in there 9 days later!!

Fantastic weather considering the time of year!

Blimey, its eight years since my last visit! Where does the time go!
Anyway, came back to Amsterdam for one night after visiting Rotterdam. I think the Autumn/Winter must be the best time the city as the weather was terrible in July.
Spent most of the first day in town dodging the showers but ventured to the 't ij brewery. Great for beer lovers. Its worth visiting to get away from the main tourist areas and to see the galleon and the brewery windmill.

Spent most of the second day at Schiphol which is almost a mini city in its own right.
