A great tour with great friends If you are coming to Richmond, you should definitely be in contact with B1Bob (Nat). He is an excellent ambassador to the city of Richmond and they should be glad to call him one of their own. His thorough knowledge of the history and culture of Richmond is one of a kind, and I got to experience alot more than if I had merely followed the "Things to Do" section of the Richmond attractions guide at the airport.
We were able to see a little bit of history at the Museum and White House of the Confederacy, as well as hear the wonderful story of Maggie Walker, the first Black Bank President. We ate traditional Southern Style food as well as some great Dominican!
Overall, I felt like we did a week's worth of touring in 48 hours! Well worth the price of admission! |

LoriPori Tue May 20, 2008 20:51 UTC OK I'm sold on Richmond Virginia. Gotta get me a can of Cheerwine soda pop and go shopping at the Artsy Fartsy Center. Wahoo! Thanks for the visit to my Chicago - I'm usually not that fond of big cities, but Chicago - I like! | richiecdisc Tue Mar 11, 2008 22:07 UTC When you eat with Nat, you're bound to find good local food at reasonable prices. Oh, and big portions too!But I guess you found that out. | sue&gene Tue Mar 4, 2008 04:28 UTC As a definitive expert on grey hair, I do believe Nat does have a couple. | deecat Mon Mar 3, 2008 04:26 UTC Still smiling about your guide's [lol] gray hari! Terrific updates. Of course, with Nat leading the tour, you were bound to learn a good deal. Excellent restaurant tips. Great coverage of Civil War--very fair comments. Stars galore for you. |
