Baker St. Pub: Rice District's Baker St. Eating / Drinking Review

If you are in the mood for a little pub fare, and a Sherlock Holmes type atmosphere, than look no further. Baker St. Pub keeps the look and feel of an English Pub to go with Bryan O'Neills Irish Pub next door, and the Kelvin Arms Scottish Pub down the street.

I guess rice students really like Pubs!

I really enjoyed their onion rings and their burger was delicious. As always wash it down with a Guiness.

Brian O'Neill's: A wee bit of Irish

If you are out in the Rice Village area, one of the places you will want to stop in is Brian O'Neills. It is a small Irish Pub, but it has an interesting twist. In the back area, there is a stage for live music.

Being from Austin, the live music portion was not necessarily my favorite, but Houstonians seemed to like it. I personally was not a fan because it was too loud for the small space they were taking up, and frankly I thought that a pub should only be loud with conversation.

Overall, it was a fun time though.

Kelvin Arms: If its not Scottish, Its Craaaap.

As Mike Myers claimed, "If its not Scottish, Its Crap" may never be more true than when you walk into the Kelvin Arms. Known for its neat bank vault seating area, this little Scottish Pub is a nice place to enjoy your whiskey, or beer in a fun down home atmosphere (if your home is in a Scottish Pub that is).

It is located near the Rice Village, which is nice for shopping, dining, and drinking.

Ben & Jerry's Scoop Shop: Get the Scoop! Eating / Drinking Review

As you probably read in my nightlife tips, as well as a couple restaurants, the Kirby Lane area of town very close to Rice University is one of my favorite places to hang out in the Houston area. If you are here, I would recommend getting your ice cream fix at Ben and Jerry's scoop shop on Kirby Drive.

I guess there is not much to say about ice cream shops, but if you are going to eat ice cream, Ben and Jerry have cornered the market on goodness!
