    • Luggage And Bags: As always, my tip to you is to make sure you pack just a carry-on if you are going for less than 7 days. I never understand why travelers believe they need to carry 8 pairs of shoes for a vacation trip! Pack what you need into a small suitcase, and move on. Sarah and I were able to do 9 days in Rio and Iguassu with a backpack each, and one carry-on suitcase. No checked bags equals no lost luggage!

    Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: The weather was beautiful a couple days, and very rainy another in July. I would recommend bringing a raincoat, but make it light as it was still quite warm. Also, make sure you pack a couple pairs of extra socks if you will be hiking/walking alot. Nothing worse then wet socks!

     We found downtown Santiago to be just the same on a Saturday afternoon - and had a similar experience with the City to Surf run in Sydney as you did with the marathon in Rio. Love the little marmoset. leyle

     Excellent page. Makes me want to go to Rio more than I already did. Your tip about the marathon would be good for many cities. We got stuck in to London marathon on our honeymoon.
