During our trip from Aswan up to Luxor, one of our stays was in Idfu, home of the Temple of Idfu, which was dedicated to the God Horus. As you will see from my tips, it was quite a fun trip, and well worth the time stopping here on the way to Luxor.
- Pros:Great Temple, Fun Horseride
- Cons:Lots of street vendors!
- In a nutshell:Turn a deaf ear to the vendors, and you are in for a good time!

Egypt seems to be such an interesting destination--you've captured its mystique so well!
Interesting page on Idfu. Really enjoyed all the travelogues.
I am in love with the archaeological places in all the world!
A very interesting page and wonderful tips and pics. Thanks Mark for bringing back sweet memories about this outstanding Temple!
Another "stellar" account of your fabulous trip to Egypt. Like the details for explaining your adventures.
That sand is a great preservative!
its a fabulous temple, it was our second favourite to Abu Simbol we managed to get in a carriage with a very warped wheel, it made our journey to the temple very wobbly and exciting !
Awesome pictures in travelogues!
So what was more fun, driving a carriage or humping it on a camel? You two have some great adventures.
Nice page! I guess one of the reasons the temple builders worked so hard was that they were probably toast if they didn't! The tip for the horse sounds like the Egypt I experienced too!
