Our first trip to Africa!

Well, with 10 months to go before our wedding, we found a great deal on a trip to Egypt... so off to Cairo!

We arrived on a Tuesday afternoon, and were ready for an adventure of a lifetime! Upon arriving at the airport, we met several people from our tour group, which was sponsored by Friendly Planet, a US based tour organization. We also met Hyanthum and Tamer, our guides for the trip from Wings Tours.

They took us to our Hotel, Sheraton Cairo Towers... where we checked in our bags, took a quick nap, and got back on the bus. From there we headed to the Cafe 55 for a real Egyptian dinner, and then off to the Pyramids for the amazing light and sound show.

    Great tips, Mark! I'm heading to Cairo for the first time next month. I'll be on my guard against the junior salesmen!! A great breakfast at the Movenpick?...that might well sway my hotel decision! :-)

    Useful tips and wonderful pics on Cairo which I'm planning to visit in two weeks. Coptic Cairo existance may change my mind on the second-day excursion. Thanks Mark for sharing!
