Tahiti: More than Stepping Stone to Fr. Polynesia

by ATXtraveler - last update: Apr 2, 2005

The Beginning and Ending

Waterfalls of Tahiti
Tahiti is a wonderful little island that supports French Polynesia's main airport, Faaa. To think that Tahiti is only the stepping stone to the other islands is completely underestimating this place however. Sarah and I decided to take a 4x4 Safari and see more of Tahiti, and we were not disappointed! Most people can not get over the urban sprawl of Papeete, FP's capital and most dirty city.... but to think of Tahiti as only a travel hub would be a shame. Hopefully the tips I have provided will help you agree!

What an enjoyable read about Tahiti. I agree about the graffiti and the trash. Pretty frightening about the unstable pilot. Beautiful scenery, especially the waterfall.

Grafiti is not just a modern thing, the Vikings left some in scotland and there is some on one of the pryamids.
