Our Lord of the Rings Tour continues!

Thanks to our handy HEMA map, which had little golden rings next to all of the sites for the filming of the Lord of the Rings we ended up in Tongariro National Park to see the Plains of Gogoroth and Mount Doom. We also got a chance to see Mordor, as evidenced by this picture of Sarah!

I visited Tongariro National Park to go hiking a few days before Lord of the Rings premiered in Wellington. I didn’t realize its importance to the film at the time. But the park was magnificent! Thanks for the tips! I would like to return someday.
