Paradise revisited

Back in paradise after several years and Antigua is just as lovely as I remember from my first visit. This is the first time in several years that we have come in the spring but there are many people here from Europe on this visit. There is a big secret in the islands which some are beginning to discover-it is cooler there in the summer than it is im many places far north like Chicago. It is the wonderful trade winds and we love the islands in the summer without all of the crowds.We have been to this wonderful island several times and we think that it is like most people expect the islands in the caribbean to be like. It is not commericalized. It has a very nice shopping area downtown with some great shops. There is one Kentucky Fried Chicken and the rest of the island is authentic. The beach by Sandals has lots of beach activities but most areas are perfect for kicking back and getting away from the schedules and stresses of everyday life.

The water is beautiful and the weather is great almost all year long. This is one island we go back to repeatedly. If you like Nassau then this may not be the place for you-it is not touristy! We were planning to go back in March but could not get into our condo-it appears that others are discovering this wonderful island. We will be back if not this summer than next spring. This is a place to return to often!
