Finally, a real winter again! Snow which stays white and doesn't turn into dirty mud right away and even blocks of ice on the Neckar. Together with many others we walked down to the river to watch the ice floating by. |

As far as touristy cities go, Mannheim has always been in the shadow of Heidelberg. It's even difficult to find some Mannheim souvenirs, for those visitors who'd like some. But it's a nice place to live in. I've lived here in the Mannheim area for the last 25 years.There are good shopping opportunities, a large variety of schools to choose from - though this is not of any interests to visitors - and also a lot of nature, more than people think when they are driving through the city. |
