My son and I decided to stretch our trip from Cambridge to London into several days, with one stop in Ipswich, mainly because I wanted to see the museum there.
It's not a major tourist town in the UK, but we both liked it there. Especially the waterfront area is really nice.
- Pros:Good shopping and a lovely museum
- Cons:Hard to get info about it
- In a nutshell:It's worth a visit

that's an off the beaten path sort of museum
The museum sounds interesting but this internet "deal" at the hotel seems a bit of a rip-off!
If the coast is there, I would definitely like Ipswich. Why do the British charge so much for accommodation? No wonder they themselves prefer to spend their holidays abroad.
Good and interesting tips. I only knew Ipswich Town Football Club as for now.
My youngest son was born in Ipswich ! I miss the water now I'm in the middle of Saudi Desert .Still black & white cows though ! Thanks for your comments on my Madain Saleah page :0)
