Ciao Tutti!

So having a nona who grew up in Italy, I also have the chance to stay in an apartment she owns, which is conveniently right off the coast of the Adriatic Sea. I've spent many summers as a kid hanging out on the beach everyday with my extended family. The people in Italy are the most intense people you will ever meet. They are always up for a good time, but their temper can flare at any moment. They're loud, and love to talk, infact they never stop talking! They love their food, and they love to feed you! While in Italy i mainly stayed in Sottomarina a nice little town with an extensive coast line. If you have ever heard of Ven ice which you likely have, then it's just by there, through Chiogga. Venice is a place I have visited once. I have been in a gondola and paddled through the streets(which are rivers) and seen the beautiful historic buildings that make up the city.

The people, the fun times....

Over the years I have met many great people in Italy. The way of life there is so interesting. The cars are tiny, everyone owns a moped, and motorcycling is a must. The driving rules are nearly not existant, and it is as if everyone has a death wish while on the roads. So remember to always look both ways before crossing the street. MOSQUITOS! Always, always, always make sure you have an abundance of bug spray at night when you're out on the town. Make sure you also have some pizza, and don't forget the gelatto.

My tips...

How to meet people? Hit the beach! Try to learn the italian language, don't expect that everyone will know english, and if they speak to you in english try to speak to them in italian, it's much more fun that way, even if u dont know the language very well. Try to join a game of beach volleyball, it's a great way to get to know people, and if you plan on spending everyday at that beach, you'll have more than your family to talk to, and you'll stay active. You should probably go inside at lunch, or you will be too exhausted by the heat at the end of the day that you won't be able to enjoy the night life. Because it is so hot at night, Italy is usually restless. There is always live music playing somewhere around you, and the Italians sure love to dance!

Pros and Cons
  • Pros:Beautiful languages, historic buildings, full of arts and culture
  • Cons:can be almost too hot at times
  • In a nutshell:When the moon hits your eye like a big-a pizza pie, that's amore
