Wayang Kulit show
The Wayang Kulit show is performed by one man who narrates, sings and makes the puppets move.
You can sit behind him ior just walk around to see the show from behind the scene.
Wayang Kulit puppets
The Sonobudoy Museum in the centre of Yogyakarta is the place to be to see a real life Wayang Kulit (leather puppets) show. Before the show began, the conservator of the museum explained us the making of the puppets: very interesting.
The puppets cost 300.000 rps each and I bought these three for our kids.
Bird Market, streets
This is a picture you can shoot a hundred times at the Bird Market.
It's a completely illogical structure of small streets where you easily can get lost.
The pictures don't say everything because you can't hear the sounds or noises of the birds.
Water Castle of Yogyakarta
This is my last picture of the Water Castle. The ultimate gate at the end of the walk was the most lovely decorated.
It's wonderful
Swimming Pools at the Water Castle
These are two of the six or seven swimming pools of the Water Castle.
The King or sultan had separate swimmin pools for himself, for his family, for his women, for his swimmers and so on.
Now , they're being restored and I'm sure it'll be lovely within a few years
Water Castle of Yogyakarta
This is one of the decorated gates within the Water Castle
Notice the two opposite dragons covering the 'door'
Entrance of Water Castle
This is one of the entrance gates to the real Water Castle.
Entrance fee is 2000 Rps and I love the smiling face over the entrance
