We visited Hong Kong for 6 nights beginning of November 2006 and travelled there from Beijing, after spending 4 nights there.

After lots of research we decided to stay on Hong Kong island rather than Kowloon as most of our sightseeing that was planned was from here. It was a good choice, as I preferred the atmosphere and loved the trams over there. Overall I found my holiday in Hong Kong an overwhelming experience, I loved the wonderful, ‘different’ sights that I saw, the views, the monuments, the temples.
We spent most of our time here with my sister and her husband who arrived the day after us and stayed on after we left, so this made it an even more memorable holiday.

This is how we spent our 6 days there:

Day 1: Aberdeen – Repulse Bay – Stanley, Star ferry at night
Day 2: The peak, visit to Central including Bank of China Tower, Man Mo Temple, Cat St market, ladder street, Escalator and Statue Square
Day 3: Cheung Chau island, Star ferry to Kowloon, Nathan Street and Temple St night market in evening
Day 4: Temple of 10,000 Buddhas, Chi Lin Nunnery, Wong Tai Sin Temple, Symphony of Lights show on Avenue of Stars in the evening
Day 5: Lantau island: Po Lin Monastery, Big Buddha, Tai O fishing village, visit to the peak at night
Day 6: Hong Kong park, flower, bird and jade markets, Tin Hau temple, Kowloon park, Avenue of stars.
