Lothian Buses

Lothian buses were very useful to us as our guesthouse was a 10 minute journey from the centre of Edinburgh and during the day, you didn't have to normally wait for more than 10 minutes for one to arrive. They are also useful just for jumping on and off around Edinburgh, providing you know where they go! You can buy an all day ticket for £2.30 or it is £1.00 single to any stop, but you do need to have the correct money as the driver cannot give change.

Airport shuttle

The airport shuttle runs approximately every 10 minutes and goes as far as Waverley Bridge in the centre of Edinburgh. The journey is about 25 minutes. You can also get off at stops along Princes Street, but as we found for our return journey, you CANNOT ascend at Princes Street, only Waverley Bridge. There is a designated stop there.
At the time of purchasing end of July 2006 prices were £3 single and £5 open return.
