On holiday in Devon, UK - June 2010

I originally come from near Leicester, in the Midlands, but moved to Bedfordshire 10 years ago. I now live with my husband, Mick, in a village not too far from Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire. It is about 20 minutes from Milton Keynes.

My mother's family come from North Wales and most holidays when I was young were spent here. My first trip abroad was when I was 17 in 1992 to Corfu but it is only really since 2003 that i have managed to get away several times a year for both city breaks and full length holidays.
In 1995-1996 I lived in France, near Lille, as part of my degree. Living that far North i was also able to go for day trips to Belgium, which was great.

2007

Beginning of March - spent 3 days in Riga, Latvia, although unfortunately, this trip was for work so only managed to see the Old Town at night.

March - 3 nights in Lisbon, where unfortunately I got very ill with possibly food poisoning and so one of my days was spent in bed and therefore I didn't get to see Sintra, however, I did make enough of a recovery to see a lot of Lisbon itself, including Belem.

May - 4 days in Rome

July - 3 days in York, UK

October - a week in Rhodes, Greece

2008 - Our son Thomas was born on 16th May so no more travel for us for a while! - maybe the odd holiday now and again, but for now, just happy to concentrate on home life.

We now have a lovely black cat called Stevie, who we were looking after for a couple of months and has now became ours!

I know the area where you live. Lived there for 3 years back in the early 80's. Wish i could return to those happier days. Enjoy everything you can in your travels even if it only to the local pub. Tom
