Favorite thing: Ma was tickled to wander about, with a skilled guide who obviously loved talking about her topic. Of course, all conversation was in Italian, but the guide was satisfied with my occasional grin and nod, and was pleased that I was taking photos to share with VT readers.

I wish I could discuss, with any small degree of knowledge, the various parts of the church I was shown. In time, I shall be able to explain with a greater depth of understanding.

Favorite thing: We were pleasantly surprised to find such a beautiful church in Santa Lucia di Piave. We were even more pleased to find someone who would take the time to show us around the church, from top, to bottom.

Ma Kettle has viewed practically every church in every town we have visited while in Italy. Of course, that means I have too, after I ran out of excuses that is...

Fondest memory: Ma Kettle and I missed our bus from Santa Lucia di Piave, and had a six hour wait until another one came. We were at odds as to what we should do, as this small town offered no taxi service either. We initially went in search of a bar to grab a quick coffee, and then intended to walk the eight kilometers to the train station.

Of course Ma has a nose for churches, so on the way, it was decided to stop in for a look. As I was taking photos outside, Ma became involved in a conversation with a lady who had just left the church. One thing led to another, and suddenly I find myself being led off for a personal tour. Ma was estatic. I was, well, following...

I'm not a fan of churches. However, It was a real treat to be shown everything up close and personal. I generally don't take photos inside, but I was actually encouraged to do so this time by our guide.
