We had friends who had a great stay at Locando San Trovaso. Rooms were slightly more than basic, but spotlessly clean with good bathrooms. Their room overlooked a small canal, although romantic in the early evening hours, became alive the following morning with the normal every day boat traffic. Remember, this is not Disneyland, but a real, working class city.
All the main areas of interest are within very easy walking distance. There is a grocery store and often visited wine bar close by, with two vaporetta stops within a couple of minutes walk. If you take vaporetta Line 51 from the train station, you arrive almost outside the hotel door fifteen minutes later.
Breakfast is adequate, a tad sparse for the price, and includes a cello wrapped package of dry toast and bun, plus coffee (?).
I will attempt to take a photo some time this week of the exterior, but meanwhile, I will use one from their web site.
Unique Qualities: A reasonably priced, Two Star B&B.
