Beacon to the arts scene
A TYPICAL WINTER'S DAY IN CHICAGOLAND

It's the water connection. And a peripatetic childhood. Born close to where the Danube begins as a trickling stream, the thread of my travels unwinds along the Baltic and North Sea coasts, sails the Atlantic, and crisscrosses the Ionian and Aegean seas. Finally it brings me here to the Land of the Shining Big Sea Water - Lake Michigan. First city north of Chicago, Evanston has been home for 20 years.

As a volunteer art teacher, I discovered VT while doing research on DALA horses. As a passionate traveler, I was hooked! This is THE site where explorers from every generation can exchange practical tips on travel - while sharing fantastic photos and travelogues! I quickly learned that metro Chicago is dotted with happy travelers of similar interests and so....
Village green: Raymond Park

At last the deed is done.

....spurred on by the encouragement of local VT'ers a hometown EVANSTON page took shape.

Street Art in Many Forms

Banners, murals and gaslight style street lamps enhance Evanston's public spaces. An outdoor seat at the Cafe Express offers the visitor this view.....
Viaduct art
Rockets and flares

Whirlygigs that Dance and Spin

...while a walk in the park leads to encounters of a sculptural kind. To see more images, visit the park's site: www.sculpturepark.org.
